Mystical Poetry [Tues. 11th Feb.
4-6pm, room TBC.]
The initiation rite involved the production of
acute embarrassment, but whose was anyone’s guess. “Magical thinking is the
belief that thoughts and desires can directly transfer themselves to, and
transform, the material world, other people, the future.” The mystic eschews
calcified power structures, insisting on unmediated access to
whatever-you-call-it. Killer Mike says “I kill my masters | I mentor none.” It should
be distinguished from the occult, from magic, from spirituality, but it
blurs dimly fuzzy perceived unclear, or by means other than the typical five
attributes. Candidates include the I Ching, Tarot, and astrology.
Guerrilla Poetry [Tues. 10th Mar. 4-6pm, room TBC.]
We shuddered inside the self-addressed envelope,
pure fluxion warped its walls. Patchy tactics eh. Guerrilla knitting,
gardening/advertising/theatre. It trips dissociative, the
transgression reinscribing the line it wanted to eschew only grew. Spanish guerrilla, diminutive of guerra war. The CEOs have
their expense claims rejected. In that phase-shift of lights
elemental, organicism sings ♫ killing is a part of what we inadequately call
living ♫. Ethics toxified breath. The mannequin’s
eery light lathering up a fiscal fistbump. We’ll meet at Sean Bonney’s ‘Notes on Militant Poetics’ and escalate
from there.
Carceral Poetry [24th Mar.
4-6pm, room TBC.]
Blacksmith as lockpick. As
unemployment increases and profitability declines worldwide, there is a return
to incarceration as a way of managing those who are designated ‘surplus’ or
unruly. Macao constraint breaks the macao constraint. “I know who you are,” she
said, reaching for her sword. I move it up my shoulder just a bit a nudge if I
can, jingling the keys. Confrontation string through to lacquered
panpipes. The bare bulb swung ghastly bright. Ringleaders may
include George Jackson, Bobby Sands, and Jackie Wang.
